What’s the Florida Panthers’ excuse for its final four Game 1 victory over the host Carolina Hurricanes? A please-excuse note to teachers and bosses.
The NHL Eastern Conference finals took two days to play. The hockey match started Thursday night and ended at 1:56 a.m. Friday, with the Panthers winning 3-2 in the fourth overtime.
On a school night. On a work night.
So, maybe you were late to the office or to class in the morning. The Panthers have students and workers covered.
The team posted to its social media accounts a note you may present to your principals or bosses excusing you for your tardiness or sleepiness.
The “please excuse” note with blank spaces to insert your child’s name (or yours) explains that “they had to stay up late to support the Cats. “[Insert name here] support is essential to the team, and we appreciate your understanding. Go Cats!”
“If I were a boss I’d take that!” one fan posted on the Panthers’ Facebook post.
