Drake, the team’s first of two third-round picks, signed just hours after leaving practice with an undisclosed leg injury. He is competing with Jay Ajayi for the team’s starting tailback job, but Ajayi had a clear lead even before Drake’s injury.
A career backup at the University of Alabama, Drake signed a four-year contract worth an estimated $3.5 million.
