Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase adds three more to staff
Adam Gase seems determined not to repeat Joe Philbin’s mistakes.
While the lack of quality depth in Philbin’s coaching staff was painfully clear, Gase has ensured that Ryan Tannehill and Miami’s offense will have plenty of experienced, respected support.
Gase formally hired three coaches Tuesday: Clyde Christensen as offensive coordinator, Bo Hardegree as quarterbacks coach and Jeremiah Washburn as assistant offensive line coach.
Christensen, a 14-year assistant for the Colts, wasn’t a surprise. His hiring was a fait accompli since Saturday.
But Hardegree and Washburn signed on with the team in recent days.
Hardegree was one of Gase’s lieutenants in both Chicago and Denver. Last year, Gase ran the Bears offense; Hardegree was an offensive assistant.
Washburn, meanwhile, comes to Miami after spending the past seven years coaching the Detroit Lions’ offensive line. Before that, he was a member of the Baltimore Ravens’ personnel department.
