Ben McAdoo is the new coach of the New York Giants, and it sounds like ex-Dolphins coach Joe Philbin will join his old friend in the Big Apple.

Philbin will reportedly be part of McAdoo’s staff, although his exactly title remains unclear.

NorthJersey.com reported Thursday that the Giants have discussed naming Philbin their quarterbacks coach, with a possible assistant head coach designation.

It’s quite the role reversal from two years ago, when Philbin considered McAdoo for the Dolphins’ offensive coordinator position. The two men worked together in Green Bay for six seasons before Philbin got the Dolphins job.

Philbin has kept a low profile since the Dolphins fired him in early October. In December, he was named to the NFL’s committee tasked with clarifying and defining what constitutes a catch.

Philbin went 24-28 as Dolphins coach, and lost his job after a 1-3 start to the 2015 season.

▪ The Dolphins signed defensive tackle Charles Tuaau to a futures contract. Tuaau, 6-5, 310 pounds, played collegiately at Texas A&M-Commerce and spent 2015 training camp with the Chiefs.
