Koa Misi’s year is done.

The news was better, however, for Mike Pouncey.

The Dolphins placed Misi on injured reserve Tuesday, shutting him down for the last two weeks of the season. The same was true for special-teams contributor Chris McCain, who injured his knee in San Diego. He also is on IR for the remainder of the year.

Misi went down with a back injury against the Chargers and never returned.

Pouncey on Sunday aggravated a foot injury that has bothered him the past few weeks. But the Dolphins apparently hope he can return for one of the final two games.

Misi’s injury further complicates a dicey linebacker situation. Neville Hewitt on Sunday took the snaps of Jelani Jenkins, who missed the Chargers game with an ankle injury. And when Misi went down, Spencer Paysinger was inserted into the lineup.

In all, the Dolphins had three roster spots open up. The Dolphins filled them by signing James-Michael Johnson, Shelley Smith and Jacques McClendon.
