Cameron Wake's season is now officially over, as the Miami Dolphins placed their star pass-rusher on injured reserve Saturday.

Wake tore his Achilles' tendon in the Dolphins' loss to the Patriots, tests confirmed Friday.

The transaction opened a roster spot for Miami, which the team filled by signing offensive lineman Ulrick John off the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad.

The Dolphins are thin at the position after starting right tackle Ja'Wuan James went down with a toe injury Thursday. He could miss a month.

John was a seventh-round draft pick in 2014. He spent his entire rookie year on injured reserve; this is his first time on an NFL active roster.
