Dolphins RB De’Von Achane officially signs contract extension

The contract ink has officially dried.

Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane officially signed a contract extension that will keep him with the team through 2030, the franchise announced late Wednesday afternoon.

News of Achane’s deal broke May 13. As previously reported, the four-year extension was worth $68 million with $32 million guaranteed, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

The extension comes after the 2025 season in which Achane was named to his first Pro Bowl, led the league in yards per carry (5.7) and had the second-best yards from scrimmage total (1,838) in franchise history.

A third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Achane burst onto the scene with a 200-rushing-yard, six-total touchdown performance in his second career game against the Denver Broncos. The then-rookie would end the season with an average of 7.8 yards per carry, the highest by a running back with at least 100 attempts since 1934.

Achane would follow up his rookie year with an impressive sophomore campaign that included him leading the team in yards from scrimmage (1,499), third in receptions (78) and second in touchdown catches (six).

After a successful 2025 season, Achane will undoubtedly be the focal point of the Dolphins’ offense in 2026. His unique blend of explosiveness and pass-catching ability will surely be an asset to first-time starting quarterback Malik Willis.
