Dolphins RB De’Von Achane sat out the second day of OTAs

De’Von Achane might be a little banged up.

The star running back didn’t participate in the second day of organized training activities. Instead, he was off to the side, seemingly doing rehab assignments.

This comes less than a week after Achane reportedly signed a four-year, $64 million extension to remain with the Dolphins.

Although the exact injury is unclear, Achane’s lack of participation should come as no surprise considering that a Dolphins coach recently let it slip that he wasn’t 100% healthy.

“He’s so dynamic,” Dolphins passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo said. “That brings so much to the offense and really stresses the defense because he’s not just playing running back. It’s going to be really exciting to get him out there once he’s healthy and ready to roll.”

Achane was undoubtedly the driving force of the Dolphins’ offense in 2025, a season that culminated in his first Pro Bowl appearance. In addition to recording a league-leading 5.7 yards per carry, the former Texas A&M standout rushed for 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns. He also added another 488 yards and three touchdowns through the air off of a team-high 67 receptions.
