Dolphins executive interviewed for vacant Viking GM job
One of the Miami Dolphins’ top executive is being considered by the Minnesota Vikings for the team’s vacant general manager position.
Kyle Smith, who was recently added to the Dolphins staff as new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan’s top executive, has been requested by the Vikings to interview for the position that became open earlier this spring.
Smith, a former college receiver at Youngstown State who played in the Arena Football League and Canadian Football League, spent the past five years in the same role with the Atlanta Falcons.
According to the NFL Network and ESPN, the Vikings have formally requested permission to interview Smith, Ray Agnew, the Detroit Lions assistant general manager, Reed Burckhardt, the Broncos assistant general manager, Los Angeles Rams assistant general manager John McKay, Los Angeles Chargers assistant general manager Chad Alexander, Seattle Seahawks assistant general manager Nolan Teasely, Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Terrance Gray, Tennessee Titans assistant general manager Dave Ziegler, and 49ers assistant general manager R.J. Gillen.
Despite most free agents being signed, and the 2026 NFL draft having already taking place, the Vikings are searching for Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s replacement after he was fired on January 30th.
