Dolphins vs. Ravens: who should I start on my fantasy football team?
This one could get fun.
Both teams have two victories. Both teams want to turn their seasons around. And both teams need this dub.
What a time to be alive for fantasy owners.
This one could get high scoring as both the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins have defenses that struggled as of late. Then again, it’s Week 9 — the ugliness of the four-day turnaround between games could start to show.
For all of our fantasy teams sake, let’s hope it’s the former.
START:
Baltimore RB Derrick Henry
Don’t let the Dolphins’ dominate performance against Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Falcons fool you.
The Dolphins, for the vast majority of the season, have been a sieve to any running back, elite or not.
Now, the best tailback of this generation comes into town. Why not start the guy who has the 17th-most rushing yards in NFL history?
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson
The two-time MVP will play in the backyard of where he grew up for the first time since 2021.
Additionally, Jackson will suit up for the first time since Sept. 28.
So with a nice mix of friends and family in the crowd, do you really think Mr. Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr. won’t show up and show out? Yeah, think again.
Dolphins RB De’Von Achane
This Ravens defense is not what it used to be.
Sure, the loss of Nnamdi Madubuike hurt, but they too haven’t been great against the run. The Ravens allowed 128.9 rushing yards per game (23rd) but also 10 touchdowns on the ground.
Achane, of course, can kill defense in a variety of ways so expect him to just that.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle
The main reason that both Waddle and Achane are on here: the Ravens rank 28th against the pass, allowing roughly 251 yards per game.
Translation: The Ravens’ pass defense can be pierced. And who better to do that than Mr. Waddle?
SIT:
Dolphins Defense
Last week, it was Kirk Cousins and Bijan Robinson.
This week, it’s Jackson and Henry, two of the greatest to ever play their respective positions.
Find a different defense.
WAIT & SEE:
Ravens TE Mark Andrews
The Dolphins have struggled against tight ends.
ESPN Fantasy Football ranks Miami 22nd against the position.
What makes Andrews a toss-up is his questionable connection with Jackson. The once-elite connection produced just two catches in the same amount of games to start the season.
Then Andrews went for six catches, 91 yards and two touchdowns in the third game of the season. The duo linked for five catches before Jackson’s unfortunate injury. Whether they still have it will be determined Thursday.
