Aaron Brewer to play vs. Chargers while Jaylen Wright gets healthy scratch

The Miami Dolphins will have their starting center against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Aaron Brewer will suit up Sunday after initially being ruled questionable with a pectoral injury.

Other inactives include wide receiver Cedric Wilson Jr. (knee), defensive back Elijah Campbell (quadriceps), linebacker Tyrel Dodson (concussion), cornerback Storm Duck (ankle), tailback Jaylen Wright, defensive tackle Zeek Biggers and Quinn Ewers, the latter of whom will serve as the emergency third quarterback.

This marks the second straight week that Wright was a healthy scratch. When asked about the decision to leave the second-year tailback on the bench after the Carolina Panthers game, coach Mike McDaniel said it had nothing to do with performance.

“Jaylen Wright was not something that we were totally planning on, but we felt we needed the body for the two other phases, so we went heavy on defense and special teams, and it wasn’t an indictment on Jaylen,” McDaiel said Oct. 5. “I [had] a great conversation with him this morning about the whys and what-fors. So, I’m expecting him to have an outstanding practice week to prepare to go ahead and be involved against the Chargers.”
