The Dolphins to debut new ‘Rivalries’ uniform Sept. 29 vs. Jets
The Miami Heat officially has competition for South Florida’s coolest jerseys.
Nicknamed “Dark Waters,” the Miami Dolphins’ newest “Rivalries” colorway was revealed Thursday. The ensemble features a pitch blue — not black — base with orange-and-aqua accents. Miami will have the new threads in their uniform rotation for three years, according to Nike.
“Each uniform was designed in collaboration with the club it represents to authentically reflect what makes their team, fans and communities wholly unique,” Airhart Ryan, Nike’s director of NFL apparel product design, said in a statement.
The Dolphins will first rock their “Rivalries” uniforms Sept. 29 against the New York Jets. All related apparel will be available Sept. 10 at nike.com, NFLshop.com, fanatics.com, individual team stores and additional retail locations. NFL Shop sites in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia will also have the apparel as well as select international retailers.
In total, the Dolphins were one of eight teams across the AFC East and NFC West that had their “Rivalries” uniforms revealed. It will be the first of three additional “Rivalries” colorways that will debut during the 2026, 2027 and 2028 seasons.
While the players were certainly enthused, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel appeared more focus on the upcoming NFL season, which begins next Sunday against the Colts in Indianapolis.
“I’ve been reassured that every player will have the same uniform so that’s my starting point of importance,” McDaniel said Thursday morning. “I think it’s cool to have our own shade of blue at nighttime.”
Added McDaniel: “That’s a whole layer of novice of uniform creation I wouldn’t want to jump into anyway. That would stress me out. I’m focused on football.”
