Dolphins LB Chop Robinson to practice Thursday after sustaining rib injury
The Miami Dolphins certainly dodged a bullet.
Promising second-year edge rusher Chop Robinson avoided major injury after being carted off Wednesday during joint practices against the Detroit Lions, according to Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel. In fact, Robinson will practice Thursday despite sustaining what McDaniel deemed a “rib injury.”
“He’s definitely sore but will be practicing today,” McDaniel said Thursday.
Although the initial reports of Robinson’s injury looked bleak considering he didn’t return to Wednesday’s practice, the 22-year-old did share that he was “good” via his Instagram.
This comes a day after the Lions easily handled the Dolphins both offensively and defensively. An important caveat: the Dolphins were without several key players including receiver Tyreek Hill, edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, tackle Austin Jackson and fullback Alec Ingold while wideout Jaylen Waddle participated in limited reps. McDaniel said Thursday that although Hill likely won’t practice, Waddle should be more readily available.
“If Tyreek didn’t have to answer to anybody, he would’ve practiced yesterday,” McDaniel said. Hill currently has an oblique injury that likely “would keep him out a lot longer” if he would’t practiced.
