Dolphins vs. Bears live blog: three tailbacks score to Fins put up
The Miami Dolphins will open their preseason on the road against the Chicago Bears.
After a rather physical joint practice, the Dolphins need to show some fight against a Bears team that played much more agressive on Friday.
The Dolphins would tie the Bears 24-24 in a game that saw three Miami running backs — Alexander Mattison, Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II — score touchdowns.
Ollie Gordon II scores on first dirve
The rookie’s first carry was a rumbling, 21-yard rush that saw Gordon break a few tackles.
He would soon follow that up with a one-yard touchdown scamper.
Grayson Murphy sack
The edge rusher’s impressive preseason continued with a sack of quarterback Case Keenum.
Jaylen Wright punched it in
After Wright’s three consecutive runs from the 2-yard line ended up with negative yardage, the second-year tailback responded with a touchdown late in the second quarter.
Wright found the seam near the right guard to scamper into the endzone for a seven-yard touchdown run.
Fins up 14-0.
Zach Wilson with two deep balls
Wilson’s arm looks good.
The backup quarterback has two big throws of over 30-yards, the first coming to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and the second to Tahj Washington.
Wilson’s link up with Westbrook-Ikhine came on the Dolphins’ first scoring drive as the wideout made a few Bears defenders miss en route to a 35-yard gain.
On the following drive, Wilson found Washington streaking across the field for 34-yards.

Wideout Maurice Alexander put the Bears on the board with an athletic, four-yard grab courtesy of quarterback Tyson Bagent.
An outstretched-Alexander managed to get both feet down in the back of the endzone. Very, very impressive.
The Bears and the Dolphins are tied at 7.
Dolphins finally score from 1-yard line
It took five plays across two different drives but the Dolphins finally scored from the one.
Running back Alexander Mattison punched it in from the 1-yard line on the Dolphins’ second trip to the red zone. The first trip, led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, resulted in a four-and-out.
With Zach Wilson behind center, the backup quarterback led the offense to their first score of the 2025 season.
The Dolphins are up 7-0.
Willie Gay Jr. continues to impress
The linebacker has been one of the stars of training camp.
He continued his domination with a sack of Tyson Bagent on the opening drive of the game.
