Dolphins star Tyreek Hill faces divorce after cops called to his high-rise condo
Amid trade rumors and a day after a domestic dispute involving his wife and child, Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was served with divorce papers on Tuesday. His wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill, says their marriage is irretrievably broken.
Lakeeta and her attorney, Evan Marks, filed the petition for divorce in Miami-Dade County Family Court. As part of the petition, she seeks child support, alimony, the car she drives and the home she has lived in with their daughter.
Prior to her legal team submitting papers to the court, Sunny Isles Beach officers were called to “an assault” between Tyreek, Lakeeta and their daughter in the condo that he owns at the Porsche Design Building, 18555 Collins Ave., an incident report read. The condo was built in 2016 and is a 3-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom, 3,555 square-foot unit.
Lakeeta’s mother, Alesia Vaccaro, was there at the time and told officers arguments between Tyreek and Lakeeta were growing in number since the birth of their daughter. Vaccaro has lived in the condo since November.
“[Vaccaro] stated that Tyreek is very aggressive and impulsive and that he has anger issues and she is afraid for her daughter...,” the report read.
Additionally, she told officers she saw Tyreek arguing and throwing Lakeeta’s computer to the floor before grabbing her granddaughter and walking with her toward the balcony of their 35th-floor home. At that point, she called police.
Lakeeta agreed with her mother that quarrels were becoming more frequent, mostly when she gives her opinion on things they discuss, which causes Tyreek to become angry, agitated and start throwing objects, the report read. She told officers they went to couples therapy — but that wasn’t working.
The disagreement on Monday escalated when she told him he was not involved enough with their daughter, she said. Despite her description of Tyreek’s troubled behavior in the past, she made a point to officers that he grabbed their daughter “without malice” and the argument never became physical.
Tyreek agreed with much of the story told to officers by Vaccaro and Lakeeta, including that the dispute never escalated to anything physical. According to the report, he said, “I have the same rights as a father as her as a mother, and I can take my baby whenever I want.”
While officers did note there was a light redness mark, possibly a bruise, on Lakeeta’s chest, she told them it probably happened “without malice” when Tyreek grabbed their daughter from her. The young girl was in “good health and good physical condition,” the report said.
Lakeeta did not want to give a written statement and Tyreek left the home. No arrests were made.
Since this dispute, the Miami Dolphins released a statement:
“On Monday, we were informed that the police were called to Tyreek Hill’s home, and after conversations with Tyreek and members of his family, the police departed the residence without further incident and the case was closed. We have since been in communication with Tyreek and the NFL and will have no further comment on the matter.”
Years of chaos
This isn’t the couple’s first dispute since they tied the knot in November 2023. In fact, two weeks after a fire engulfed a portion of Tyreek’s $7 million mansion at Landmark Ranch Estates near Davie, he filed for a divorce from Lakeeta in Broward court, stating their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
Soon after, Tyreek would go to social media to deny seeking a divorce, although court documents were filed. He blamed his attorney, whom he would go on to fire in January, and then withdrew the divorce petition. However, the same day the divorce was dismissed, Davie police were called to a domestic dispute at his mansion involving Lakeeta and Hill.

Apart from his wife, Tyreek has had other women sue him, court records show. He’s faced two paternity suits and another suit from a social media influencer who alleged he broke her leg while she visited him at his mansion.
Before his NFL career, back in 2014, Tyreek was kicked off the Oklahoma State University football team after pleading guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation after attacking his then-pregnant fiancée. He received three years probation and was ordered to complete a year-long anger management course.
Separate from mounting romantic disputes, his time with Miami Dolphins has also been contentious. Arguably the Dolphins’ most talented player, Hill ignited trade rumors at the end of the season when he asked “out” following the team’s 32-20 loss to the New York Jets.
“There are a lot of things I need to reassess about my career,” Hill said prior to seemingly requesting a trade. “Just see what I need to do to continue to get better as a player so I can continue to reach that 1,000-yard mark. It [stinks] missing QB 1.... I’ve got to do what’s best for me and my family, whether that’s here or wherever the case may be. I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro.”

He subsequently doubled down on the aforementioned rumors with a host of social media antics, including a few subtle tweets and changing his profile picture to then-Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown, who famously retired mid-game.
In the months following his diatribe, Hill has walked back his trade request, emphasizing how much he loves South Florida and even apologizing to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
“I don’t wanna go nowhere,” Hill told “Up and Adams” host Kay Adams on Feb. 7. “I love it [in South Florida]. My family loves it. My kids absolutely love being on the beach every morning. It’s an amazing thing.”
