Dolphins re-sign special teams contributor Elijah Campbell to one-year deal

Defensive back Elijah Campbell will return to the Miami Dolphins.

The one-year deal will pay Campbell $1.9 million, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A special teams ace with experience as both a safety and a cornerback, Campbell started three games over his five-year career with the New York Jets and Dolphins. All of his starts, however, came in the last three years with the Dolphins.

Campbell has amassed 40 combined tackles and a forced fumble since he got his first shot with the Jets in 2020.

Although defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver has previously raved about Campbell, the Dolphins still need another safety to pair with Ifeatu Melifonwu.
