Former Dolphins, Hurricanes receiver Braxton Berrios headed to the Houston Texans

Former Miami Hurricanes receiver Braxton Berrios will sign with the Houston Texans, per the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson.

The deal is worth one year, $2 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Berrios spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins where he totaled just 27 catches for 238 yards and a touchdown. A torn ACL during a Week 7 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts limited Berrios to just six games in 2024.

The New England Patriots picked Berrios in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was placed on injured reserve before the 2018 regular season then was cut.the following year. Berrios spent the next four seasons with the New York Jets and even made an All-Pro team in 2021 as a kick returner.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., the 29-year-old returned to the home of his alma mater in 2023 to play for the Dolphins.
