Miami Dolphins

Here’s everything you need to know about Sunday’s Dolphins-Texans game

The Miami Dolphins will look to reach .500 and keep their playoff hopes alive when they face the Houston Texans on Sunday.

When is the game?

Sunday’s game starts at 1 p.m.

Where is the game?

The game will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston.

How can I watch the game?

If you live in either Miami-Dade, Broward or Monroe County, WFOR-TV CBS Miami will broadcast the game starting at 11:00 a.m. with “The Coach Mike McDaniel Show.”

Who isn’t suiting up?

The Dolphins ruled out wide receiver Dee Eskridge (knee) as of Friday evening.

Offensive tackle Terron Armstead (knee) carried a doubtful designation, though it’s unlikely that he plays after exiting five plays into last week’s matchup against the New York Jets and not practicing all week.

Five players — receiver Grant DuBose (shoulder), offensive tackle Kendall Lamm (back), long snapper Blake Ferguson (non-football illness) as well as outside linebackers Bradley Chubb (knee) and Cameron Goode (knee) — have been listed as questionable.

What’s the significance of Sunday’s game?

This is essentially it.

If the Dolphins lose Sunday, they can essentially kiss their playoff hopes goodbye. If they win, Miami will be at .500 for the first time since Week 2.

So, to reiterate, this is it.

Since at least November 14, the first time defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver mentioned that Miami’s playoffs have already started, the Dolphins have approached each game as if it were the postseason. Defensive tackle D’Shawn Hand recently broke down what that actually meant.

“Every detail matters,” Hand said. “Before, you might miss something in practice and you’ll be like ‘Alright, I’ll get it by the game.’ Now, it’s like you don’t even want to put yourself in that position because that might cost you in the game. We don’t got no more games to lose. The magnitude of everything is heavier now so you just have to approach it like that.”

At the time of Weaver’s comment, the Dolphins could only afford to realistically lose one more game the rest of the season. That loss happened to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving. While Weaver’s comments were accurate, the Dolphins real playoffs start now.

It’s officially “win and you’re in” season for Miami. Let’s just hope that they’re ready.
