Safety Jevón Holland ruled out with a knee injury just weeks after fracturing left hand

Miami Dolphins safety Jevón Holland won’t return to Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The young star suffered a knee injury in the second quarter. After initially being listed as questionable, he was downgraded to out at the start of the third quarter.

It’s unclear what happened.

With Holland out, veteran safety Marcus Maye will finish the game.

Sunday was Holland’s first game back since he fractured his left hand against the New England Patriots. The fracture would cause him to miss last week’s 16-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Holland’s second injury comes amid a pivotal time in the young safety’s career. A second round pick in 2021, Holland will need another deal to stay in Miami past the 2025 season.

Through five games in 2024, Holland has two pass deflections, a forced fumble and 22 combined tackles.
