Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley out against Colts with a right shoulder injury
Tyler Huntley has been ruled out return with a right shoulder injury, according to the Miami Dolphins.
The starting quarterback went down around the midway through the third quarter after Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II delivered a brutal hit that made Huntley land on his shoulder. Huntley walked off the field under his own power but his right arm appeared a bit stiff.
He would soon head into the blue medical tent before eventually making his way to the locker room. The Dolphins initially listed Huntley as questionable before later ruling him out.
Huntley’s injury couldn’t have come at a worst time the quarterback finally appeared to have found his groove. He had completed roughly 54% of his passes for 87 yards and touchdown before being forced out.
With Huntley ruled out, Tim Boyle will take over the offense. Boyle, who was called up to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday, took over for an injured Skylar Thompson during the 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He completed roughly 58% of his passes for 73 yards.
Since Tua Tagovailoa’s Week 2 concussion, the Dolphins have had a carousel at quarterback. Thompson started against the Seahawks before being knocked out with a rib injury. Boyle took over but the Dolphins signed Huntley the following week. Huntley started the next three games before being ruled out Sunday.
Help, however, appears to be on the horizon. Tagovailoa plans to resume practice next week and hopes to play Oct. 28 against the Arizon Cardinals.
