The Miami Dolphins head out west for a Week 3 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon

Here’s what you need to know:

When is the game?

Sunday’s game starts at 4:05 p.m. EST.

Where is the game?

The game will be played at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash.

How can I watch the game?

If you live in either Miami-Dade, Broward or Monroe County, WFOR-TV CBS 4 will broadcast the game starting at 4 p.m.

Who isn’t suiting up?

Receiver Grant DuBose was the only player ruled out, per the Dolphins’ final injury report of the week.

Veteran running back Raheem Mostert (chest) and rookie receiver Malik Washington (quadricep) were both listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game. Odds are Mostert sits out as he’s still recovering from what he deemed sprained SC joints and fractured cartilage.

“We’ll see with Raheem,” coach Mike McDaniel said Friday morning. “I’m an optimistic person, so I would say I’d be pessimistic that he’d play, which is telling, but I can’t rule it out.”

What’s the significance of Sunday’s game?

With Tua Tagovailoa out with a concussion, the Dolphins must turn to backup quarterback Skylar Thompson.

Sunday’s game will be the first start since his rookie year in 2022. His rookie stats weren’t necessarily inspiring — he completed 52% of his passes for 754 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions — but everybody around the organization has preached that the former Kansas State quarterback has grown tremendously.

“I just think his really understanding of himself, how he needs to play to be successful and knowing his teammates, knowing how to communicate to them and reach them, I just think overall you grow,” offensive coordinator Frank Smith said Thursday. “The hardest year as an NFL player is your rookie year.”

Although an away game across the country might not be the most ideal way for the Dolphins to start their time without Tagovailoa, this stretch of the season is a bit easier. The Dolphins’ next three opponents — the Seahawks, Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots — didn’t make the playoffs in 2023. For the Thompson test to be considered a success, they’ll have to win at least two of the three games prior to Tagovailoa’s return in Week 8.
