With three of their wide receivers out with injuries, the Dolphins elevated Robbie Chosen from their practice squad on Saturday, making him eligible to play in Sunday’s opener against visiting Jacksonville (1 p.m., CBS).

The Dolphins have only four healthy receivers on their 53-man roster: Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Braxton Berrios and recent waiver wire pickup Grant DuBose, who did not appear in a game as a rookie for Green Bay last season.

So Chosen could end up being the Dolphins’ No. 4 receiver in Sunday’s game.

The Dolphins remain without receivers Odell Beckham Jr. (who’s on the reserve/physically unable to perform list), River Cracraft (who’s on injured reserve with a shoulder injury) and rookie Malik Washington (who’s on the 53-man roster but out Sunday with a quadricep injury).

Beckham and Cracraft are eligible to return after four regular-season games.

Running back De’Von Achane also could get some snaps in a wide receiver role on Sunday. The Dolphins also could use more two tight end sets.

Chosen caught four passes for 126 yards and a touchdown in nine appearances for the Dolphins last season. He spent training camp with the 49ers but was released in late August, and Miami signed him to its practice squad two days later.

The Dolphins opted for Chosen over their two other practice squad receivers: former Seattle player Dee Eskridge and former fourth-round pick Erik Ezukanma.

Even with Jalen Ramsey questionable for the game with a hamstring injury, the Dolphins opted not to elevate cornerbacks Nik Needham or Isaiah Johnson.

Every player on a practice squad can be elevated as many as three times in a season. Teams can elevate as many as two players for each game.
