After a one-game absence because of an ankle injury, Tyreek Hill is back.

The Dolphins wide receiver, who was listed as questionable to play, was active for the team’s home game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Cornerback Xavien Howard, right tackle Austin Jackson and Elijah Campbell, who were also listed as questionable, were also active.

Howard returned to the lineup after missing Miami’s Week 15 win against the New York Jets because of a hip injury.

Starting safety Jevon Holland was inactive and missed his fourth straight game because of sprained MCLs in both knees.

Although Jackson was active, it was Kendall Lamm who started at right tackle, giving the Dolphins their 11th different starting combination this season.

Brandon Jones started in place of Holland alongside DeShon Elliott, who was also back in the lineup after missing the team’s game against the Jets because of a concussion.

Defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah and rookie cornerback Cam Smith were also inactive because of hamstring injuries.

Linebacker Melvin Ingram, who was elevated from the practice squad, was active and made his season debut, providing pass rush depth.

The Dolphins also made the following players inactive: right guard Robert Hunt (hamstring), wide receiver River Cracraft, tight end Tyler Kroft and quarterback Skylar Thompson (emergency QB).

The Cowboys were without a pair of starters, as offensive tackle Tyron Smith (back) and defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins (ankle) are inactive.

But a pair of starters, guard Zach Martin and safety Malik Hooker, were active after being listed as questionable.

Former Dolphins cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, who was traded to Dallas in August, was inactive. The Cowboys also made the following players inactive: cornerback Eric Scott, running back Deuce Vaughn, wide receiver Jalen Brooks and quarterback Trey Lance (emergency QB).

Waddle makes history

In the first quarter of Sunday’s game, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle caught a 50-yard pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa that put him over 1,000 receiving yards this season.

And with the reception, Waddle became the first player in franchise history to start his career with three 1,000-yard seasons.

Waddle is just the ninth player in NFL history to begin a career with three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons, joining Mike Evans, Randy Moss, A.J. Green, Michael Thomas, Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Odell Beckham Jr. and John Jefferson.

Chosen injured

Wide receiver Robbie Chosen was ruled out for the rest of game after being evaluated for a concussion.

Chosen sustained the apparent injury after hitting his head on the ground while making a 19-yard reception in the first quarter. He was slow to get up but walked to the sideline and into the medical tent on his own power. Chosen later entered the locker room with a trainer and unaffiliated neurotrama consultant.

The Dolphins originally listed Chosen as questionable to return then downgraded him to out late in the second quarter.
