Dolphins LB Bradley Chubb named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Miami Dolphins linebacker Bradley Chubb has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording three sacks against the New York Jets.
It’s the first Player of the Week award for Chubb, a six-year veteran.
In the 30-0 shutout win, Chubb became the first Dolphins player to have at least three sacks in a game since fellow pass rusher Jaelan Phillips had three in the 2021 season. Chubb also had a team-high seven tackles and recorded a pair of strip-sacks in the shutout win that increased his total to a league-high six forced fumbles.
Chubb, 27, is in the midst of his best stretch of football since the Dolphins traded for him in October 2022. He leads the Dolphins with nine sacks and has recorded 8.5 sacks since Week 6.
Chubb is the fifth Dolphin to receive Player of the Week honors this season, joining quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (Week 1), rookie running back De’Von Achane (Week 3), running back Raheem Mostert (Week 6) and cornerback Jalen Ramsey (Week 11).
