Dolphins elevate Tanner Conner, rule out Chris Brooks for game vs. Commanders

The Dolphins elevated tight end Tanner Conner from the practice squad and downgraded rookie running back Chris Brooks to out for Sunday’s road game against the Washington Commanders.

It’s the third and final elevation allowed this season for Conner, who played in Week 6 and Week 7, primarily on special teams. If the Dolphins elevate Conner again after Sunday, he will revert to waivers before Miami can add him back to the team.

Brooks was designated to return to practice this week after missing the last five games on injured reserve because of a knee injury. He was originally listed as questionable to play.

Miami is expected to have a full and healthy backfield, though, with coach Mike McDaniel announcing that rookie De’Von Achane will play despite missing last week’s game against the New York Jets with a knee injury. Achane joins Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. as the Dolphins’ running back options.
