Dolphins rookie running back De’Von Achane was inactive for Miami’s road game against the New York Jets on Black Friday.

Achane, who aggravated a knee injury against the Las Vegas Raiders, was listed as questionable to play. Coach Mike McDaniel said Achane is not at risk of further injuring his knee but the team has taken a cautious approach with an ailment that sidelined him for four straight games on injured reserve.

With Achane sidelined, Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. shouldered the load in the backfield in Miami’s 34-13 win. Darrynton Evans, who was elevated from the practice squad, also provided depth.

Offensive linemen Terron Armstead, Austin Jackson, Robert Hunt and Lester Cotton; tight end Durham Smythe; and fullback Alec Ingold were also active after being listed as questionable.

However, more offensive line injuries continued to cause shuffling along the unit. Lamm, who was added to the injury report on Friday morning because of a back injury, was seen with a black wrap around his torso during the game. When Armstead sustained a quad injury in the third quarter that sidelined him for the rest of the game, it was Kion Smith who entered the game instead of Lamm, who is normally the top swing tackle.

Right tackle Austin Jackson was later ejected early in the fourth quarter after being assessed an unnecessary roughness penalty on an extra point attempt. This disqualification forced Smith to move to right tackle, while Lamm entered the game at left tackle.

McDaniel did not have any update on the status of Armstead or Lamm.

While Smythe returned to the lineup after a one-game absence, Hunt served in a backup role while active. McDaniel said he was optimistic that Hunt would “dress” but did not commit to him playing on Friday. Liam Eichenberg started his second straight game at right guard.

The Dolphins also made the following players inactive: wide receivers Chase Claypool (knee) and Robbie Chosen, offensive linemen Robert Jones (knee), cornerback Eli Apple and quarterback Skylar Thompson (emergency QB).

It’s the second straight missed game for Claypool and Jones.
