Dolphins make practice squad elevation ahead of season opener vs. Chargers

The Miami Dolphins have elevated outside linebacker Cameron Goode from the practice squad for Sunday’s season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Goode, a second-year player, was signed to the practice squad after being waived as part of several roster cuts last week. A seventh-round pick of the Dolphins in 2022, Goode didn’t appear in a game as a rookie as he spent the year on the practice squad. He will likely contribute on special teams in the first game of the season while offering depth behind Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Emmanuel Ogbah and Andrew Van Ginkel.

NFL rules allow teams to elevate up to two practice squad players to the game-day roster each week. Practice squad players can be elevated up to three times. After that, they must be signed to the 53-man roster or they revert to waivers after another elevation.
