Dolphins to host Atlanta Falcons in joint practices before preseason game

The Dolphins will host the Atlanta Falcons for a pair of joint practices in training camp before their home preseason game on Aug. 11, a league source confirmed to the Miami Herald on Monday.

The team later announced on Twitter the joint practices would be taking place. According to NFL Network, which first reported the news, the sessions will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 8, and Wednesday, Aug. 9, and will be open to fans.

It’s the first known set of intersquad sessions that Miami will have this summer. The Dolphins held two sets of joint practices last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles.

It marks the second time in three years the Dolphins will have joint practices with the Falcons. In 2021, Miami held a pair of sessions with Atlanta at the Baptist Health Training Complex before their second preseason game.

The Falcons finished last in the NFC South last season with a 7-10 record and are entering their third year under head coach Arthur Smith.

The NFL has yet to announce reporting dates for training camp. Once dates are revealed, the Dolphins are expected to announce a select number of practices that are open to fans.
