Dolphins’ Terron Armstead returns to practice but also dealing with Achilles injury now
A handful of Dolphins veterans were back at practice Thursday.
Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead, cornerback Xavien Howard (vet rest), outside linebacker Melvin Ingram (vet rest) and defensive tackle John Jenkins (personal) were all practicing after sitting out Wednesday’s session.
Howard, Ingram and Jenkins returned to full participation, while Armstead was limited with his lingering toe injury. He was also given an additional Achilles injury designation. Armstead missed the Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings and left the Week 5 game against the New York Jets after aggravating the toe injury on the second drive.
“I hope it continues to improve,” Armstead said of the toe injury. “It’s tricky, man. It’s a tricky injury, especially for a bigger guy. It’s been tough. It’s been challenging to deal with, but as long as it’s functional, I’m rolling.”
Right tackle Austin Jackson (ankle/calf) and wide receiver River Cracraft (illness) did not practice for a second consecutive day. Jackson was activated from injured reserve on Tuesday but has yet to practice since Oct. 13, a day after he was designated to return from IR. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said it is unlikely Jackson, who hasn’t played since sustaining an ankle injury in Week 1, will make his return in the team’s road game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Safety Eric Rowe was added to the injury report and limited because of a hip injury.
Fullback Alec Ingold and outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, who was limited Wednesday with a chest/rib injury, were in red, non-contact jerseys. Van Ginkel was limited for a second consecutive day, while Ingold was a full participant.
