Bradley Chubb, Jeff Wilson participate in first Dolphins practice. Armstead, Jackson absent
Outside linebacker Bradley Chubb and running back Jeff Wilson were at their first Dolphins practice Wednesday, one day after being dealt to Miami ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
Both players passed their physicals and the team finalized the deals Wednesday morning. Chubb was wearing a No. 2 jersey at practice, and Wilson was in a No. 23 jersey. They were listed as limited participants with veteran rest.
Six Dolphins did not practice Wednesday: offensive tackles Terron Armstead (toe) and Austin Jackson (ankle/calf), cornerback Xavien Howard (vet rest), outside linebacker Melvin Ingram (vet rest), wide receiver River Cracraft (illness) and defensive tackle John Jenkins (personal reasons).
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Jackson, who was activated from injured reserve Tuesday, is unlikely to play in Sunday’s road game against the Chicago Bears. Jackson hasn’t played since injuring his ankle in Week 1.
Outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel was in a red, noncontact jersey, and defensive tackle Raekwon Davis, who was limited with a knee injury, was working on the side.
Dolphins add offensive lineman to practice squad
The Dolphins have signed offensive lineman Lamont Gaillard to the practice squad, the team announced.
Gaillard, 26, has played in 13 games with two starts at center for the Arizona Cardinals. The 6-3, 305-pound Gaillard was a sixth-round pick of the Cardinals in the 2019 Draft. He spent time on the Bengals’ practice squad in 2021 and was with Cincinnati during training camp this past summer.
