Tua Tagovailoa one of 7 Dolphins questionable for Thursday night game vs. Bengals
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he said he plans to play.
Tagovailoa, who sustained injuries to his back and ankle in the team’s win over the Buffalo Bills, was estimated as a limited participant on Tuesday and Wednesday as the team held walkthroughs.
In addition to Tagovailoa, left tackle Terron Armstead (toe), cornerback Xavien Howard (groin/glute), wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (groin), safety Brandon Jones (chest), defensive tackle Raekwon Davis (knee) and wide receiever Cedrick Wilson Jr. (ribs/toe) are also questionable. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said he expects most, if not all, to play Thursday.
The Dolphins ruled out tight ends Cethan Carter (concussion) and Hunter Long (ankle).
Meanwhile, the Bengals ruled out starting defensive tackle D.J. Reader (knee) and tight end Drew Sample (knee). Starting offensive tackle La’el Collins (back) is questionable.
Cracraft headed to 53
The Dolphins are signing wide receiver Cracraft to the 53-man roster ahead of Thursday’s game, a league source confirmed to the Miami Herald Wednesday, filling the team’s vacant spot.
The team had run out of practice-squad elevations for Cracraft after adding him to the game-day roster for the first three games of the season. If the Dolphins elevated Cracraft again, they would have to place him on waivers before re-signing him to the practice squad.
Cracraft, who originally signed with the Dolphins in February, has played 35 offensive snaps and caught a touchdown pass the last two games, the first of his five-year career.
When he spoke to reporters Monday, he said he hadn’t been told whether he would be added to the active roster.
“The guys do a really good job of not making me feel like I’m up and down,” he said. “I feel like I’m a part of the team and that’s the way it’s been from Day 1. So it’s nothing to me. I go about my business every week, assuming I’m up and you have to practice every week with the mentality that you’re going to be up, so if I just continue to do that, I think everything will fall into place.”
NFL Network first reported the Dolphins are signing Cracraft to the active roster.
