The Dolphins will hold a series of events over the next several months to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the franchise’s undefeated 1972 team. The slate of events begins with the team’s alumni barbecue on Saturday.

Among the events:

Members of the 1972 team — the NFL’s only undefeated squad — will be honored during pregame and halftime ceremonies of the Dolphins’ Sunday night football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Hard Rock Stadium on Oct. 23. The team will also wear its throwback jerseys with a commemorative patch honoring the 1972 team.

The Dolphins will also recognize members of the 1972 team as alumni captains at every home game by position groups.

A museum exhibit will be on display at Hard Rock Stadium, filled with artifacts from the 1972 team and memorabilia.

The Dolphins and First Class Cruises, in conjunction with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, will hold the inaugural Miami Dolphins Fan Cruise, a seven-night trip through the Caribbean with several Dolphins team legends and members of the 1972 team on board, from March 12 to March 19.

Additional events will be announced at a later date.
