The Dolphins (4-7) aren’t necessarily in the hunt for a playoff appearance yet but they’re making things interesting in the second half of the season after a third consecutive win. Their latest victory is a 24-17 road win over the New York Jets that sets up a three-game home-stand, beginning with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

It’ll mark the first time the Dolphins face quarterback Cam Newton since his release from the New England Patriots days before the start of the 2021 season. In two starts against Miami last season, Newton completed 32 of 46 passes for 364 yards and rushed 24 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns as the Dolphins split the season series with the Patriots.

In this week’s Dolphins In Depth Podcast, Daniel Oyefusi is joined by Ellis L. Williams, who covers the Panthers for the Charlotte Observer, to talk about the future of both organizations after trying to trade for Deshaun Watson, as well as preview Sunday’s game.
