Dolphins elevate 2 practice squad players ahead of game vs. Houston Texans
The Dolphins have elevated linebacker Vince Biegel and wide receiver Kirk Merritt from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
It’s the second free call-up for both players. Under NFL rules, practice squad players can be elevated to the game day roster twice and return to the practice squad without having to first clear waivers.
Biegel, signed to the practice squad in October after being released in training camp with an injury settlement, was elevated for last week’s loss to the Buffalo Bills but did not play a snap.
Merritt was elevated for the team’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6 but also didn’t play a snap. He provides depth at wide receiver with the team placing DeVante Parker on injured reserve Friday because of a lingering hamstring injury.
