Podcast: Looking ahead after Dolphins fail to make trade for Deshaun Watson

The NFL trade deadline came and went without any fireworks from the Dolphins. Despite reports of the team’s interest in Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, 4 p.m. Tuesday passed without the teams coming to an agreement on a deal.

So, Watson will remain on the Houston Texans for now, the Dolphins will move forward with second-year player Tua Tagovailoa for the rest of the season, and if the two sides want to meet again to discuss a trade, they will have to do so at the start of the new league year in March 2022.

While the discussions between the two front offices might be put to bed momentarily, the teams meet at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday to see which 1-7 team will finally end its losing streak. In this week’s Dolphins In Depth Podcast, Daniel Oyefusi is joined by Brooks Kubena, Texans beat writer for the Houston Chronicle, to discuss what’s next for both franchises and preview Sunday’s game.
