Miami Dolphins

Did you know Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki was a hooper? His tape, stats don’t lie.

There’s no denying Mike Gesicki’s athleticism.

The Miami Dolphins tight end recorded the highest vertical at the 2018 NFL Combine, was a three-sport athlete in high school and even led his team to a New Jersey state championship in volleyball.

Crazy right?

Well, not exactly. Gesicki clearly has bounce. Just look at his high school basketball highlight tape courtesy of the Dolphins.

This man was using every single bit of his 41.5-inch vertical. Just look how high he got on this block.

Imagine getting your shot blocked like that. You couldn’t even show your face at school the next day. Even more impressive was that he did that more than three times a game during his final year at Southern Regional High.

But forget the rejections for a second. Gesicki averaged 20-point double-double as a senior while consistently putting opponents on posters. It’s no wonder he scored the most points in school history.

Gesicki’s unreal athleticism made him a certified hooper. That’s not up for debate. New England Patriots fans need no reminder of what can happen with the ball in his hands.

Let Gesicki become as consistent as he was on the court. He’ll be giving opposing defenses fits for years to come.
