Miami Dolphins’ inactives vs. Jets includes a surprise scratch
The following players are inactive for the Miami Dolphins’ game against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium:
Dolphins: CB Linden Stephens, G Shaq Calhoun, C/G Evan Brown, WR Trevor Davis, DT Zach Sieler, DE Taco Charlton, LB Trent Harris.
Jets: CB Arthur Maulet, RB Le’Veon Bell, S Jamal Adams, CB Brian Poole, LB Paul Worrilow, S Matthias Farley, T Chuma Edoga.
What it means: The Dolphins are making Taco Charlton, who has twice as many sacks as any other Miami player, a healthy scratch. In nine games this year, Charlton has five sacks and two forced fumbles. That will presumably mean a larger role for Avery Moss and Charles Harris. Meanwhile, Shaq Calhoun’s roller-coaster season continues. Like Charlton, he’s a healthy scratch. He basically is either a starter or inactive every week. Evan Boehm will presumably start at right guard. Two Dolphins added this week will play: Mack Hollins and Zach Zenner. The Jets will be without arguably their best offensive and defensive players: Le’Veon Bell and Jamal Adams.
