Will Xavien Howard play Sunday?
The signs are not encouraging.
Howard missed his fifth consecutive practice (and second this week) with a knee injury, very much putting in doubt his availability for Sunday.
In other words: Advantage Vikings receiver Adam Thielen.
Howard would probably have covered Thielen a ton — if not exclusively — Sunday. Here’s why: Thielen has caught 103 passes for 1,236 yards and nine touchdowns this season — and there are still three games left.
If Howard cannot go, expect more of Torry McTyer again Sunday; he played 46 percent of the team’s snaps against the Patriots last week.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Dolphins’ injury news was good.
The only other player who did not practice Sunday was Frank Gore, who got his normal veteran’s day off.
