Miami Dolphins fans, you can get your hands on a ‘Miami Miracle’ T-shirt. Here’s how
The “Miami Miracle” has already been immortalized through Twitter replays, YouTube reaction videos and Tecmo Bowl recreations. Now Miami Dolphins fans can also wear the memory across their chests.
BreakingT, which calls itself a “real-time sports apparel” company, unveiled its latest creation Monday: a T-shirt to commemorate the Dolphins’ miraculous 34-33 win against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
“Celebrate an instant-classic South Beach stunner that will have fans talking forever,” reads the description of the shirt at BreakingT.com.
The shirt is simple in its design. Moving from the chest down to the waist, the shirt draws out the design of the play, beginning with quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s throw to wide receiver Kenny Stills, and following the path of two laterals and a slithering running back into the end zone for the last-second win.
The hook-and-double-lateral made for one of the most improbable wins of the season and one of the most incredible wins in franchise history for Miami. With no time left on the clock, Tannehill completed a 14-yard pass to Stills, who then lateraled the ball to fellow wide receiver DeVante Parker. The wide receiver quickly pitched the ball again to Kenyan Drake, who weaved through the Patriots defense to score a game-winning touchdown. ESPN’s win probability formula gave New England a 99.9 percent chance to hang on and beat Miami (7-6) at the start of the final play at Hard Rock Stadium.
BreakingT’s shirt is available for $25 on its website, and also features the final score and date of the miracle in Miami Gardens.
Unlike the Tecmo Bowl recreation, however, this T-shirt doesn’t quite so accurately depict tight end Rob Gronkowski’s futile attempt at stopping Drake from crossing the goal line. Dolphins fans will just have to use their imagination — not that they’re likely to forget the image anytime soon, anyway.
