Adam Gase talks about WR Albert Wilson’s injury and the depleted receiver corp
Two Miami Dolphins offensive starters continued to wear non-contact jerseys during their final practice ahead of Sunday’s road game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Running back Kenyan Drake and wide receiver DeVante Parker will likely be game-time decisions, which could put a Miami in a tough spot considering the team is already hindered by injuries to top skill position players. Both players sustained shoulder injuries in Miami’s 31-12 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 11.
Parker is listed as questionable for Sunday. Drake had no injury designation on Friday’s injury report, the last before Sunday’s game.
”They both practiced. We just didn’t have any contact with them,” coach Adam Gase said. “We’re just trying to get them in the game and see how good they feel. I think we’ll be OK in that area unless some surprise happens.”
Drake has a team-best 610 yards from scrimmage this year (376 rushing yards; 234 receiving yards) and five touchdowns. Parker, who has already missed five games this season, has started the last three games and has 14 catches for 225 yards.
If Parker is unable to play Sunday, the Dolphins will be down to four healthy receivers in Danny Amendola, Kenny Stills, Leonte Carroo and newly acquired Brice Butler unless the team makes a roster move before the game. Amendola is questionable for Sunday with a hamstring injury.
In other practice news, quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for a third consecutive practice this week. Gase has already said Tannehill will start Sunday.
Tackles Laremy Tunsil and Ja’Wuan James also practiced during the portion open to media and seem likely to return after missing the game against the Green Bay Packers. Tunsil has no injury designation. James is questionable.
Four other Dolphins are listed as questionable for Sunday: tight end A.J. Derby (foot/knee), defensive tackle Davon Godchaux (shin), guard Ted Larsen (neck) and safety T.J. McDonald (knee).
Defensive end Charles Harris is expected to play.
