Miami Dolphins pay for Booker T. Washington High’s football championship rings

The Miami Dolphins donated $23,000 to buy championship rings for the Booker T. Washington High School football team.

In a presentation at the chambers of the Miami-Dade County Commission on Wednesday, Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel presented a jumbo team check to the high school team, a national force in football that won the 2013 state echampionship and was ranked No. 1 in the country.

The donation came amid an official county celebration for the 14-0 team, with Miami-Dade declaring Wednesday "Booker T. Washington High" day.

Garfinkel was joined by NFL Hall of Famer Larry Little, a Booker T. Washington graduate and former Dolphins guard.
