The Heat made a minor roster move Monday, signing undrafted rookie and former Virginia Commonwealth guard Briante Weber and waiving Corey Hawkins.

Weber, a three-time Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year who finished as VCU's all-time career steals leader and with the third-most steals in NCAA history, had originally signed with the Heat last month but failed a physical following major knee surgery in January.

Hawkins, the son of former NBA player Hersey Hawkins, appeared in two preseason games with Miami totaling six points, two rebounds and an assist in 14 minutes of action.

It's expected Weber (6-2, 165) will play for the Heat's D-League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
