Who’s in and who’s out for Heat-Lakers game at Kaseya Center? Adebayo ready to return
The Miami Heat will get its top player back from injury, and the Los Angeles Lakers will also be close to full strength.
The Heat upgraded three-time All-Star center Bam Adebayo to available for Thursday night’s matchup against the Lakers at Kaseya Center after he missed Tuesday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets due to right calf tightness, and the Lakers upgraded their leading trio of Luka Doncic (right hip soreness), LeBron James (left foot arthritis) and Austin Reaves (right forearm contusion) to available for the contest a few hours later.
With the Lakers on the backend of a brutal back-to-back set following their win over the Rockets in Houston on Wednesday night, Doncic, James and Reaves were all listed as questionable for Thursday’s game in Miami before being upgraded to available.
The only player out for the Lakers on Thursday is Maxi Kleber (back strain).
The Lakers, which have won seven straight games to take sole possession of third place in the Western Conference, arrived to their Miami hotel around 5 a.m. on Thursday morning after their victory over the Rockets in Houston on Wednesday ended around midnight Eastern Standard Time. Thursday also marks the Lakers’ third game in four nights.
As for the Heat, it will have to play without sixth man Jaime Jaquez Jr., who was downgraded to out for Thursday’s contest because of left hip tightness. It marks the sixth game that Jaquez has missed this season and the first game he has missed since Jan. 17.
The Heat will also be without Vlad Goldin (G League), Trevor Keels (G League), Terry Rozier (not with team), Andrew Wiggins (left big toe sesamoiditis) and Jahmir Young (G League) against the Lakers.
