The Miami Heat’s injury issues continue.

The Heat will be without two rotation players for Thursday night’s matchup against the Boston Celtics at Kaseya Center, ruling out sixth man Jaime Jaquez Jr. (left knee soreness) and starting guard Davion Mitchell (left shoulder contusion).

Jaquez, who has established himself as one of the NBA’s top reserves this season, will miss his fourth game of the season. He played in the Heat’s last game, recording 16 points, four rebounds and eight assists in 31 minutes in Tuesday’s victory over the Phoenix Suns but then missed Wednesday’s practice with his knee issue before being ruled out for Thursday’s contest.

Jaquez underwent an MRI on Thursday that only showed irritation in his knee. He has been labeled by the team as day-to-day.

Mitchell, who has started in each of his 38 appearances this season, will miss his third game of the season.

Mitchell hurt his shoulder while trying to run through a screen early in the third quarter of Tuesday’s win over the Suns.

Mitchell remained on the court for the next few possessions, and even made a midrange jumper after hurting his shoulder. But during the next stoppage of play, Mitchell was evaluated by Heat trainers before heading back to the locker room with 9:07 left in the third quarter.

“I tried to stay in the game,” Mitchell said Wednesday. “Obviously, after the foul, I had to go get an X-ray. And then when my adrenaline kind of calmed down, I feel like that’s when it hurt the worst. And I was like, ‘Bro, I can’t lift my arm.’ So, I kind of made that decision myself.”

Mitchell said Wednesday he felt “a little bit better than yesterday.”

“I can lift the arm now,” Mitchell said. “I mean, obviously, it’s still in pain, but I’m doing better.”

An MRI was not immediately needed on Mitchell’s injured shoulder, but there could be an MRI if it doesn’t improve in the coming days. As of Thursday, Mitchell had not yet undergone an MRI.

Like Jaquez, the Heat labeled Mitchell as day-to-day.

Along with missing Jaquez and Mitchell, the Heat will also be without Myron Gardner (G League), Vlad Goldin (G League), Terry Rozier (not with team) and Jahmir Young (G League) against the Celtics.

The Celtics only ruled out Josh Minott (left ankle sprain) and Jayson Tatum (right Achilles repair) for Thursday’s game in Miami.
