Heat’s Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro questionable for Sunday’s game vs. Hornets with new injuries
As if the Miami Heat’s 10-game losing streak wasn’t bad enough, the Heat’s leading duo of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro have both been added to the team’s injury report.
Bam Adebayo (left knee sprain) and Tyler Herro (left hip contusion) are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets at Kaseya Center (6 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network Sun).
Adebayo sustained the injury when he was setting a screen during Friday’s loss to the Houston Rockets — the Heat’s 10th consecutive defeat.
Adebayo was wearing a sleeve on his left leg and walking with a limp at the team’s annual Family Festival on Saturday.
Herro also hurt his hip during Friday’s loss to the Rockets. In the defeat, Herro tied a season-low with eight points and finished the game with no made threes for just the fourth time this season.
Forward Nikola Jovic (hand) and guard Dru Smith (Achilles’) remain out, and the Heat has Josh Christoper, Isaiah Stevens and Keshad Johnson on a G-League assignment.
Everyone else is expected to be available for Sunday’s matchup against the Hornets.
The Heat entered Saturday in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, one game behind the ninth-place Chicago Bulls and 3.5 games behind the eighth-place Orlando Magic. The Heat would lose a tiebreaker to the Bulls and currently trails in the tiebreaker against the Magic.
Miami’s losing streak is its longest since February 2008.
Adebayo has only missed two games this season. Herro has only missed three games this season.
