Podcast: Where does Miami Heat’s bench stand and what can it be when the roster is healthy

This Miami Heat’s bench has not been a strength this season. That’s one of the biggest differences from last season, when the Heat closed with the NBA’s highest-scoring bench.

But is the Heat finally starting to find the right mix off the bench as the roster gets healthier?

On a new episode of the Miami Herald’s Heat Check podcast, Anthony Chiang and David Wilson discuss where things stand with the Heat’s bench. The Heat (18-17) closed its four-game homestand with a 112-98 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night to earn its sixth win in the last eight games.

Guards Victor Oladipo and Gabe Vincent are both finally healthy and available, forward Haywood Highsmith has seemed to find his footing, wing Max Strus will eventually be able to provide offense off the bench once the Heat’s starting lineup is whole again, sharpshooter Duncan Robinson has been making more threes recently, and undrafted rookie center Orlando Robinson has flashed some intriguing potential.

Chiang and Wilson broke it all down.
