The city of Miami will celebrate the start of the Miami Heat’s playoff run in a big way this weekend.

How big? The 60-story Paramount Miami Worldcenter tower, which is located just one block away from FTX Arena, will be lit up as part of the celebration.

It started Thursday night, as the Paramount’s Skydeck Crown lit up with a 100-yard-wide by 100-foot-tall digital silhouette image of a dribbling basketball player.

As the player passes the ball, the rooftop crown transitions into a 300-foot-wide by 100-foot-tall glowing animated Heat logo. The image then changes into the Atlanta Hawks logo before it dissolves into the Cleveland Cavaliers logo, to acknowledge the Heat’s two potential first-round playoff opponents.

In addition, Paramount’s 700-foot, 233-yards-tall, red-colored center column features the white-lettered phrases: “NBA Playoffs,” “Go Heat,” and “#1 Miami.”

The winner of Friday night’s play-in game between the Hawks and Cavaliers will be the Heat’s first-round opponent. The tower’s revolving images will reflect the result of that matchup to display the Heat logo and the logo of the winner of the Hawks-Cavaliers game late Friday through midnight.

On Saturday, Paramount will be lit up from 5-7 a.m. It will then light up again later that day at 8 p.m. until midnight.

On Sunday, the tower will glow from 5-7 a.m. If the Heat wins Game 1 of its first-round series on Sunday afternoon, the Paramount will light up with the Heat logo and the “#1” from 8 p.m. until midnight that day.

On Monday, the tower’s NBA playoff graphics will turn on at 5 a.m. and turn off at 7 a.m. before turning on again at 8 p.m. through midnight.
