Miami Heat

Podcast: What has stretch without Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler revealed about the Heat?

Despite a long list of injuries, the Miami Heat is finding ways to win.

The Heat has posted an impressive — considering the circumstances — 6-5 record over its last 11 games since starting center Bam Adebayo went out with a thumb injury. In addition, Adebayo’s co-star Jimmy Butler has missed all but one game during this stretch.

The Heat has been even better recently, entering Thursday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons with wins in five of its last seven games.

In this week’s episode of the Heat Check podcast, David Wilson and Anthony Chiang break down what’s working for the short-handed Heat. Hint: Three-pointers and zone defense have a lot to do with Miami’s recent success.

Chiang and Wilson also discussed why this stretch filled with injuries could end up benefiting the Heat down the road.

The episode ends with Chiang and Wilson each picking one Heat gift that would make coach Erik Spoelstra happy on Christmas.

As always, please continue to rate, review and subscribe with episodes coming each week during the season. Thanks for listening.
