Podcast: How the Heat is trying to survive life without Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler
The Miami Heat is facing adversity, at the moment. Half the rotation is sidelined because of injuries and it’s at the beginning of a stretch that includes 11 road games in a span of 15 games.
But the Heat overcame that adversity, without Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro, to upset the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night to move to 1-1 on its current four-game trip.
In this week’s episode of the Heat Check podcast, David Wilson and Anthony Chiang break down the beginning of the team’s trip. They discussed how the Heat has had to adjust its style of play and what it needs to do to win games with an injury-depleted roster.
This episode was recorded prior to Wednesday’s win over the 76ers, but the discussion was still timely considering what unfolded in Philadelphia.
Chiang and Wilson also talked about the NBA’s suddenly concerning COVID-19 situation and what it could mean for the Heat and the league moving forward.
The episode ends with Udonis Haslem talk, as his rise to becoming a South Florida icon was the focus of three Miami Herald stories this week.
