Podcast: Miami Heat preseason opener overreactions and the Tyler Herro hype grows
The Miami Heat has played one preseason game and the overreactions have begun.
On this week’s episode of the Heat Check podcast, David Wilson and Anthony Chiang, the Miami Herald’s Heat beat writer, are joined by Associated Press NBA writer Tim Reynolds to give their overreactions to the preseason opener and try to explain why they aren’t actually overreactions.
On the list: Tyler Herro is a real contender for the Sixth Man of the Year Award. The Heat is actually going to play at a fast pace this season because of Kyle Lowry. And Bam Adebayo is going to be the biggest beneficiary of the addition of Lowry.
Also, in this week’s episode:
▪ Will the Heat treat any of its preseason games as a “dress rehearsal”?
▪ Did the Heat receive enough recognition on this year’s NBA preseason survey of general managers?
▪ Reynolds teases his ballot for the 75 greatest players in NBA history, which is a list that’s expected to be released by the league this month.
